More please…

This morning I was in the bathroom when I heard Caden in our room gulping something.  I immediately ran in there to find him drinking from the glass of red wine I had left on my bedside table from the night before.  I yelled something and must have startled him because he dropped the glass making a huge mess.  While I was cleaning it up he comes over to me and starts signing more please.  Caden only signs please when he emphatically wants something like M&Ms or popsicles, or apparently red wine!  The moral of the story, always finish your wine!  :)

My sweet busy boy

I don’t know what happened to my sweet calm little boy.  Oh wait, he’s been gone awhile.  Replacing him is this curious, coordinated little guy that is super-super busy.  I go to bed every night feeling like I ran a marathon.  Here are a few cute pics I took on my phone today of Caden being his normal crazy self :)  Seriously moms need an extra set of eyes and at least another pair of hands!

He got a water table for his birthday.  I think the proper use is to stand beside the table and put your hands in the water.  I turned around for 2 seconds and Caden found an alternate use.  A swimming pool!  What you can’t see is that this is 18 inches or so off the ground.  He was soo proud of himself though.  We went with it and he even had a popsicle in his new “pool”

Fast forward 6 hours.  Our normal night time routine involves filling up Caden’s ducky tub by running the shower while we get everything together for his bath.  Usually he runs around playing until we catch him and put him in the tub.  Today he decided he’d beat us to the punch. You can’t tell in the picture but he is being pelted by the shower.  This is the second time Caden has gotten into the bathtub fully dressed.  Last week he joined Adam in the shower while we were getting ready for church.

Check back soon to see photos from our trip to Hermann Park and Caden playing in the fountains.

Ninja Baby

Meet Caden the one year old ninja :)

C is for Caden, Who is Turning 1!

We had a cookie monster themed birthday party for Caden about a week after his actual birthday.  Once he got over all the people in the house staring at him he had a blast.  Here are some of my favorites with commentary…

Some of the details…

Caden greeting people at the door.01

He really took advantage of the grandmas.  Everytime I saw him he had something else he pointed to off the table :)

Caden eating his giant cake.

It was everywhere!!!

His audience.

I think it looks like he is about to blow a kiss :)

He got a bath in the kitchen sink and touched everything he could reach with his little blue hands.

On to present time…

All the older kids were standing by ready to help him unwrap.

At one point he got bored of opening presents and decided to climb the stairs.  He was intercepted by Daddy only to discover a balloon!

He likes it!

Not only were all his grandparents here, but his great-grandparents GG and Mickey.  Lucky boy!

A ride on Papa John’s shoulders is always fun!

He got a tricycle!  He wanted nothing more than to ride it but he was too short.  He sat on it anyway and treated it like a rocking horse.  It was one of his favorite toys.  He just needs to grow a few inches.

Thats some serious concentration.

Caden and his cousin Aaron were playing with his new wagon.  I love this action shot.

A bunch of awesome ladies in my family.

I love this one.  He looks so happy!

Check back soon for a video of Ninja Caden :)

Our crazy little man

This morning as usual we were rushing to get ready for church.  I was putting on my make-up while Adam was taking a shower.  Caden has been very interested in the shower lately and often pulls back the curtain to investigate.  This morning he took it a step further and climbed into the shower with Adam fully clothed.  I would have guessed that he wouldn’t like all the water on his face and that he would probably cry and that would be the end of the shower fascination.  But no, Caden loved the shower!  He didn’t mind one bit that his clothes and diaper were soaked and that water was constantly pouring down his head.  I fear that this may become a regular occurrence since our 100 year old bathroom door doesn’t shut properly :)  Needless to say we were very late for church!  Never a dull moment in our house.

I was going to grab a picture but I thought it would be inappropriate :)  Instead here is a sneak peak from Caden’s birthday party…
